Fix a Pixel phone that will not charge by USB-C

Procedure
Do this in order.

Prove the adapter and cable
Use the current adapter and cable to charge another device, then try the Pixel with another known-working compatible cable or adapter.

Prove the wall outlet
Plug the charger into a wall outlet and test that outlet with another appliance such as a lamp.

Inspect the physical connection
Seat both cable ends firmly and look for visible dust or lint in the phone port without inserting a conductive tool.

Read the one-minute response
Connect the known-working path, wait one minute, and look for a battery icon or red light before pressing buttons repeatedly.

Give a discharged battery time
Charge for at least 30 minutes, then hold the power button to restart. If necessary, follow Google’s documented power-and-volume button branch.
