Fix a DJI Mini 4 Pro battery that will not charge

Separate a powered-on aircraft, temperature lockout, charger or hub fault, hibernating battery, and unsafe battery before replacing parts.

Turn the aircraft off first: DJI states that Mini 4 Pro batteries do not charge while the aircraft is powered on. Inspect the battery and contacts, bring the battery into DJI’s 5–40 °C charging range, then test one battery directly in the aircraft with a known-good USB Power Delivery charger and cable. A new or long-unused battery may need this single-battery path to wake from hibernation. If direct charging works but the same battery fails in the hub, investigate the hub; if neither path works, or the battery is swollen, damaged, or reports an app error, stop and contact DJI.

Procedure

Do this in order.

  1. 01

    Remove the simple charging blocks

    Turn the aircraft fully off, reseat the battery or hub connection, and allow a just-flown battery to return to the documented 5–40 °C charging range.

  2. 02

    Inspect before applying power again

    Check the battery shell, contacts, charging port, aircraft battery bay, and hub slots for swelling, damage, contamination, or an abnormal fit.

  3. 03

    Wake one battery without the hub

    For a new or long-unused battery with no normal LED response, install only that battery in the powered-off aircraft and connect the known-good charger and cable.

  4. 04

    Cross-test the two charging paths

    Test the same battery directly in the aircraft and in the Two-Way Charging Hub, changing only one charger or cable at a time.

  5. 05

    Read the LEDs and DJI Fly result

    Compare the LED behavior with DJI’s abnormal-blinking guidance. If the battery powers on, install it, connect DJI Fly, and record any exact battery error before contacting support.

  • Do not open the pack, short contacts, bypass its management electronics, or use improvised recovery equipment.
  • Contact DJI when a safe, in-range battery still has abnormal LEDs or no response on both known-good direct and hub charging paths.
