In the Hue app, choose Add Devices, select the target room, and scan the sensor QR code. If no code is available, use the app’s search or serial-number path.

Choose the room, zone, or lights that should respond and select the scene or brightness behavior for the intended times of day.

Walk through the detection area and verify both the on action and the later off behavior from the temporary location.

Tune overrides and sensitivity
Use the Hue app to adjust sensitivity, timeslots, scenes, and Do Not Disturb behavior where available for the sensor.

Stop conditions
Know when not to keep changing things.
- Do not mount permanently until the full trigger and shutoff cycle works from the chosen position.
- Do not reset the sensor while the Hue Bridge itself is offline or unhealthy.
- Stop using a sensor with battery leakage, water ingress beyond its rating, or physical damage.
