Stream or mirror an iPhone to a TV with AirPlay

To AirPlay from iPhone or iPad, use an Apple TV, AirPlay-compatible smart TV, or supported Mac and place both devices on the same Wi-Fi network. For video streaming, tap the app’s AirPlay control and choose the receiver; for full-screen mirroring, open Control Center and choose Screen Mirroring. Enter the TV passcode if requested. Some video apps do not support AirPlay, and a VPN or network configuration that blocks local discovery can prevent the receiver from appearing.

Prove receiver discovery
Open Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring, and check whether the intended receiver appears.

Choose stream or mirror
Use the AirPlay button inside a supported media app for direct playback, or Screen Mirroring for the whole iPhone display.

Complete receiver authorization
Select the receiver and enter its on-screen AirPlay passcode on the iPhone if requested.

Separate app restrictions
If Photos mirrors but one video app does not stream, check that app’s AirPlay support or use its TV app where available.
