Name MagSafe Charger (1 m) versus MagSafe Charger (2 m)

On Apple United States, lock MagSafe Charger (1 m) (MGD74LL/A) versus MagSafe Charger (2 m) (MGDM4LL/A). Apple Canada lists MagSafe Charger (1m)/(2m) under MGD74AM/A and MGDM4AM/A. Both share the same MagSafe puck and differ by integrated USB-C cable length.

Cable length is the published MagSafe Charger purchase split.

Check what the extra metre costs today

On September 13, 2026, Apple listed the 1 m and 2 m versions at $39 and $49 in the United States. Apple Canada listed them at C$55 and C$75. Recheck the store before buying because pricing can change.

The longer cable carried a $10 United States premium and a C$20 Canada premium on the review date, with no published charging-speed gain.

Read Qi2 25W pairing as a 30W-adapter footnote

Apple states the MagSafe Charger provides faster wireless charging up to 25W when paired with a 30W power adapter and is certified for Qi2 25W. Plan a 30W USB-C power adapter (sold separately) when that ceiling matters.

The 25W ceiling is adapter-conditioned on Apple’s product copy.

What still depends on your situation

Keep MagSafe 15W and Qi 7.5W footnotes attached to 20W adapters

Apple documents up to 15W MagSafe wireless charging for iPhone 12 or later with a 20W USB-C Power Adapter, and up to 7.5W Qi charging for iPhone 8 or later with a 20W adapter. Do not claim 25W without the 30W pairing footnote.

Mixing adapter footnotes invents a wireless speed Apple does not publish for every adapter.

Confirm magnetic alignment on Apple’s device list

Apple’s current shop pages name iPhone 12 through iPhone 17 families, iPhone Air, iPhone 18 Pro models, and iPhone Duo for magnetic alignment. Qi charging can cover iPhone 8 or later and AirPods with wireless charging cases. Match your exact device before ordering either length.

Apple publishes different compatibility lists for magnetic alignment and Qi charging.

Close on cable reach versus adapter wattage plan

Choose 1 m or 2 m purely by outlet reach, then choose the published 20W or 30W adapter for the wireless charging level you need. Stop before ranking charge curves beyond Apple’s footnotes.

The durable axes are cable length and adapter pairing conditions.
