Check DJI Mini 4 Pro goggles and motion-control limits
Match the exact goggles, controller, firmware, display path, shooting modes, and unavailable intelligent-flight features.
Direct answer
The shortest reliable path.
DJI’s current compatibility guide lists Mini 4 Pro with DJI Goggles 3 and DJI RC Motion 3 at aircraft firmware v01.00.0400 or later. This combination is conditional: Portrait mode, gimbal parameter settings, manual focus, enhanced transmission, and intelligent modes including ActiveTrack, Waypoint Flight, MasterShots, and QuickShots are unavailable. Supported capture is limited to documented single-photo and normal-video modes. With RC 2 or RC-N2 controlling, only the goggles show image transmission; DJI Fly does not.

Scope before steps.
DJI Mini 4 Pro used with DJI Goggles 3, DJI RC Motion 3, DJI RC 2, or DJI RC-N2 under DJI’s current compatibility document.
Other goggles generations, FPV racing, aviation regulations, unofficial firmware, repair, or unsupported accessories.
Procedure
Do this in order.
- 01
Match the supported pair
Use DJI Goggles 3 and DJI RC Motion 3 only where DJI lists them for Mini 4 Pro, with the required firmware.
- 02
Choose the control path
Decide whether RC Motion 3 or RC 2/RC-N2 will control the aircraft, then apply DJI’s function list for that path.
- 03
Accept the feature reduction
Set up a supported single-photo or normal-video mode and avoid unavailable intelligent-flight features.
- 04
Run a close-range systems test
Confirm control, goggles image, recording controls, obstacle-avoidance mode, Return-to-Home, and battery state before normal flight.
Diagnostic matrix
Read the result, not the guess.
| What you see | Check next | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| DJI Fly goes dark while goggles show video | Confirm RC 2 or RC-N2 is the control path. | DJI documents goggles-only image transmission for that combination. |
| ActiveTrack or QuickShots is missing | Review the goggles function-limit table. | The mode is unavailable in this supported configuration. |
| Products link but functions differ from a video tutorial | Compare exact models and firmware against DJI’s current document. | Another goggles or controller combination may have been demonstrated. |
Stop conditions
Know when not to keep changing things.
- Do not fly until the exact product and firmware combination appears in DJI’s compatibility guide.
- Do not plan a shot around an intelligent-flight feature DJI lists as unavailable.
- Do not launch when image, control, Return-to-Home, positioning, or obstacle warnings remain unresolved.
