Recover a Nintendo Switch that will not turn on
Reset the official AC adapter, force the console fully off, charge it directly outside the dock, and use the battery indicator to choose the service branch.

Remove the Switch from its dock, unplug the Nintendo Switch AC adapter from both ends for 30 seconds, and hold the console Power button for 20 seconds to force shutdown. Reconnect the official adapter directly to the console and wall, then press Power once. If a low-battery indicator appears, charge for at least 15–30 minutes before retrying.

Do this in order.

Unplug the adapter from both the wall and console or dock for 30 seconds.

Force the console fully off
Hold the console Power button for 20 seconds, release it, and leave the console undocked.

Charge directly
Connect the reset HAC-002 adapter directly from the wall to the console, then press Power once. If the low-battery indicator appears, charge for 15–30 minutes.

Use the indicator to choose the next branch
If no charge indicator appears, test whether the adapter powers another compatible Nintendo USB-C accessory as Nintendo describes, or arrange service with the adapter included.
