Start with what you see
Let the result choose the next step
You own Apple Pencil Pro or Apple Pencil (2nd generation)
Do not count it as supported. Apple’s Duo specifications list Apple Pencil (USB-C).
Plan for the USB-C Pencil or keep the old Pencil with the device it supports. You want wireless charging at the listed 25W
Use a MagSafe or Qi2 charger and a 35W or higher adapter.
The adapter is separate; a lower-power adapter changes the charge time. You have a physical SIM
Move the line to eSIM with a carrier that supports it before erasing the old phone.
iPhone Duo has no physical SIM slot. You want the fastest wired charge
Use a 60W or higher USB-C adapter and a USB-C cable.
Apple claims 50 percent in about 20 minutes with that route. You are comparing protection plans
Read the AppleCare+ and AppleCare One terms, service fees, and device eligibility before buying.
The monthly price is not the full cost of a repair or replacement.
Step 1
Start with the Pencil, not the case
Apple’s iPhone Duo specifications list support for Apple Pencil (USB-C). They do not list Apple Pencil Pro or Apple Pencil (2nd generation). Check the name on your Pencil before counting it as reusable.
A Pencil that works on an iPad or an older iPhone is not automatically supported on Duo. The wrong Pencil adds a purchase after the phone arrives.
Step 2
Buy a case or Folio made for the Duo body
Apple sells the iPhone Duo Case for $79 and the iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand for $129 in the United States. The Folio adds a stand for reading, viewing, and FaceTime. A case made for a conventional iPhone does not fit the folding body.
The hinge and two displays change the shape a case has to clear. A discounted old case is not a saving if it covers a screen or blocks the fold.

The Duo Case is a model-specific purchase
Apple’s official image shows the Duo Case on the folding body. A case made for a conventional iPhone does not fit the hinge and two displays.
Use the image to identify the Duo-specific case. It does not prove drop protection or show a measured fit on every unit.

Step 3
Match the charger to the speed you need
iPhone Duo supports MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging up to 25W. Apple says a 35W or higher adapter paired with a MagSafe Charger reaches 50 percent in about 30 minutes. Wired charging with a 60W or higher USB-C adapter reaches 50 percent in about 20 minutes. Both adapters and the MagSafe Charger are sold separately.
The phone does not include the fastest adapter. An older 20W charger still works, but it will not deliver the charge time Apple lists for the higher-power option.
Step 4
Activate the eSIM before you erase the old phone
iPhone Duo uses dual eSIM and has no physical SIM slot. Confirm your carrier supports eSIM and can activate the line before you trade in or erase the old phone. Test calls, messages, mobile data, and account authentication on the new phone first.
A physical SIM cannot be moved into Duo. A failed eSIM activation after the old phone is wiped leaves the reader without the number they need for verification.
Step 5
Put AppleCare and the accessory total beside the phone price
Apple offers AppleCare+ and AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss for iPhone Duo, and AppleCare One Family can cover eligible devices in a Family Sharing group. Add the Pencil, Case or Folio, and the adapter you need. Compare that total with any trade-in or leasing offer, but promotional credit is conditional.
The phone price is not the day-one cost. Protection, a case, a Pencil, and a faster adapter can change which storage or payment choice makes sense.
