Fix a Samsung TV that will not connect to Wi-Fi

Separate a TV problem from router, internet, password, signal, and saved-network faults before resetting the television.

Direct answer

The shortest reliable path.

Open the TV network status screen and compare it with another device on the same Wi-Fi. Restart the TV and router, then reconnect after confirming the exact network name and password. If other devices work but the TV still fails, run Samsung Device Care where available, install the current TV software, and use Reset Network before considering a full TV reset.

Scope before steps.

Applies to

Samsung Smart TVs with built-in wired or wireless networking; menu names vary by model year and region.

Does not cover

ISP account activation, captive-portal networks, enterprise Wi-Fi, damaged Wi-Fi hardware, or model-specific service-menu work.

Procedure

Do this in order.

  1. 01

    Read the network status first

Open Connection or General settings, choose Network, and inspect Network Status before changing anything.

  2. 02

    Compare one nearby device

Use a phone beside the TV on the same Wi-Fi. If it also fails, restore the router or internet service first.

  3. 03

    Restart the path in order

Power off the TV, restart the router according to its instructions, wait for internet service to return, then start the TV and reconnect.

  4. 04

    Run diagnostics and update

Run Samsung Device Care when the model provides it, then check Support → Software Update using Ethernet or USB if Wi-Fi remains unavailable.

  5. 05

    Reset only the saved network

Use Connection → Network → Reset Network, then select the correct Wi-Fi and enter its password again.

Stop conditions

Know when not to keep changing things.

  • Do not factory-reset the television while the router or ISP is also offline.
  • Do not repeatedly enter passwords until the exact Wi-Fi name and keyboard case are confirmed.
  • Contact Samsung when Ethernet works and supported Wi-Fi remains unavailable after software and network reset checks.
